Hierarchy of Controls

Hierarchy of Controls is a structured framework used to minimise or eliminate workplace hazards by ranking control methods from most to least effective.

The five levels are: Elimination, Substitution, Engineering Controls, Administrative Controls, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

This approach encourages organisations to address risks at their source, starting with removing the hazard entirely before relying on less effective measures like PPE.

Within the myosh platform, users can document and assess control measures according to this hierarchy, ensuring a systematic and compliant approach to risk management. By applying the hierarchy effectively, businesses can significantly reduce the likelihood and impact of incidents while strengthening overall safety performance.
