Petroleum Safety guide for nominating an operator
WorkSafe Petroleum Safety has released a guide to provide advice to licensees and operators of all onshore and offshore petroleum, pipeline and geothermal energy facilities for nomination and registration of an operator for a facility in accordance with WHS PAGEO regulations.
You should use this guide if:
- you are the operator of an onshore or offshore petroleum, pipeline or geothermal energy operation under the Work Health and Safety Act 2020, and
- you are required to develop and maintain a safety case under the Work Health and Safety (Petroleum and Geothermal Energy Operations) Regulations 2022.
Safe Work Australia releases guidance on Japanese encephalitis

Nominations are open for the “Best solution to a work health and safety risk”. This category in the 2022 Work Health and Safety Excellence Awards recognises innovation, implementation and/or design of systems or procedures to improve health and safety.
